BOULDER June 6, 2008--Three students from Bixby School became finalists this week in the ‘Nonfiction Challenge’, a nature writing and illustration contest sponsored by Buck and Diana Wilde, authors and photographers published by Scholastic and McGraw-Hill.
Megan Banich, 3rd Grade,
Will Toon, 4th grade, and
Noah Sherwin, 5th grade graduate, entered the contest along with other Bixby students after the Wildes visited the school to share their knowledge about the wetlands. Students were inspired by the photography presented and motivated to write stories after hands-on work with the authors at nearby Bridgewalk Pond.
