Third graders from Bixby, who have been learning about book sellers, advance proofs, ISBNs and many other aspects of the business, wrote book reviews for locally-owned Boulder Book Store on the Pearl Street Mall, then visited the store to see their reviews officially displayed in the Children’s section. Owner David Bolduc and manager of the Children’s section, Liesl Freudenstein, created this unique opportunity to make a fun and enriching experience for the students.
Next stop was across the street at SALT where the kids enjoyed a delicious lunch, courtesy of owner/chef Bradford Heap and, finally, it was off to the Boulder Public Library for a tour, genre lesson, and discussion of different types of fiction.
It was a great day for everyone involved!
