Boulder County Students Qualify for USA Mathematical Olympiad

Three Boulder County students have qualified to write the 2010 USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO): Hunter Chase of Alexander Dawson School, and Ben Alpert and Charles Xu of Fairview High School. Three other students have qualified for the new Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO): Alex Black of Fairview High School, Albert Soh of Summit Middle Charter School, and Jesse Zhang of Southern Hills Middle School. The rigorous nine-hour exams, scheduled for April 27-28, will lead to the selection of the 2010 USA Olympiad Team, which will compete at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Astana, Kazakhstan, in July.
