Boulder County Students Named Winners in Computational Linguistics Olympiad

Five Boulder County students have been named winners in the Open Round of the 2011 North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO):  Fairview High School students Chris Guthrie, Charles Xu, Ben Alpert, and Albert Soh; and Niwot High School student Sarah Scheffler.

 

The three-hour Open Round, which took place on Feb 2, 2011, attracted about 1200 participants from around the country.  The top 100 winners now advance to the five-hour Invitational Round on March 10.  Top scorers in the Invitational Round will be invited to represent the United States at the International Olympiad in Linguistics (IOL).
