Boulder County Students Named Winners of the UNC Math Contest

Eighteen Boulder County students have been named winners of the 19th annual University of Northern Colorado Mathematics Contest, which attracted more than 2500 participants from grades 7 through 12 this year.

The winners included Fairview High School students Ben Alpert (second place overall), Albert Soh (fifth place overall), Henry Zhang (tenth grade winner), Kyle Christensen (tenth grade winner), Larry Zhang (ninth grade winner), Siyang Sun (ninth grade winner), Eric Eisenberg (twelfth grade honorable mention), Kevin Chen (tenth grade honorable mention), and Riley Xu (ninth grade honorable mention); Southern Hills Middle School students Jesse Zhang (third place overall) and Casey Zhang (eleventh place overall); Alexander Dawson School students Zezhen He (tenth grade winner) and T.J. Leing (seventh grade winner); Peak to Peak Charter School student Christopher Chen (eighth grade winner); Monarch High School student Eric Walker (tenth grade honorable mention); and Summit Middle Charter School students Christine Soh (seventh grade winner); Jackson Chen (seventh grade honorable mention), and Yunyu Lin (seventh grade honorable mention).

The twenty-four top students from around the state will be honored at an awards banquet on April 3.
