Boulder Housing Partners receives state awards for excellence in affordable housing management

Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) received three awards from the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO).  The awards were presented at their annual conference held in Pueblo.

Each year the Colorado NAHRO recognizes innovative housing and community development projects, programs and services provided by NAHRO agency members. BHP was recognized in the following categories:

Affordable Housing Project
Broadway Apartments located at 3120 Broadway received the Affordable Housing Project award.  The project completed earlier this year contributes to the City of Boulder’s goal to have 10 percent of Boulder’s housing inventory available at affordable rents or prices. The 26 affordable apartments continue to insure high-quality housing to support a balanced and sustainable workforce in the city. 

Commissioner of the Year
BHP Board of Commissioners member Betty Hoye received the Commissioner of the Year award.  She served as a commissioner for 20 years, chairperson for 10 years and retired in April 2010.  She served on the finance committee and played a lead role with her background as a CPA and auditor.  She was an influential leader during BHP’s development of tax credit housing and non-HUD housing. Betty continues her commitment to BHP’s mission by serving as the President of the BHP Foundation.  (Photo of Betty Hoye is attached).

Administration Innovation
The BHP Web site received the Administration Innovation award. The award winning Web site features information that user groups find super friendly. These include: vendors and development partners looking for RFP’s; job seekers looking for job postings; the public looking for BHP policy and governance information and general information about BHP.  It can be viewed at www.boulderhousing.org .
