Boulder kids turn ideas into reality

with 3D design and printing technology

KTEC summer camps start in June

BOULDER, Colo., May 8, 2013 – Local elementary and secondary students will try their hands at one of the newest, cutting-edge technology developments—3D design and printing—through KTEC summer camps, offered in Broomfield, Longmont and Boulder.

“Imagine designing your own iPod cover on your computer, then printing it right on the spot,” said Broomfield, Colo. resident and KTEC owner Carol Brackman. “Kids will get to experience this amazing process in our camps.”

Parents can go to www.kidstec.com to register kids for KTEC classes and camps.

3D printing is an additive manufacturing technology that makes it possible to turn 3D modeled designs into custom solid objects on demand. The technology is anticipated to revolutionize manufacturing, architecture, building and other industries.

The KTEC 3D Design & Printing camp gives local kids an early opportunity to experience 3D printing and create their own products. As with all KTEC classes and camps, the 3D printing offering is aimed at getting kids enthusiastic about technology learning.

“We’re planting the seed for inspired future technology learning,” Brackman said. “Our approach ensures kids get top-notch instruction with a high-level of hands-on experience that opens kids’ minds to the possibilities. You can see the wonder and pride on their faces” Carol said.
