Broomfielder to Represent Colorado at the US Squash National Skill Level Championships

Kyle Bacalzo, a sophomore at Broomfield High School, qualified for the U.S. Squash National Skill Level Championships to be held in Baltimore, MD the weekend of April 1.  To qualify for the championships, Kyle traveled to Chicago to play the “Windy City Open” qualifying tournament the weekend of February 4.  Only the first and second place players from each qualifying tournament will be invited to the national championships. 

 

Kyle played three matches, dropping only one game before the final match.  In the final match, Kyle lost the first game (11 – 4), but came back strong to win the next three games and the match.  Kyle qualified as a 3.0 level player, but is planning on playing another qualifying tournament in CA at the 3.5 level.
