CareConnect has received a $20,000 grant from The Caring for Colorado Foundation to support the Medical Mobility program.
Medical
Mobility provides volunteer-escorted, medical rides for underserved
populations including seniors, adults with disabilities, and the
chronically ill. With this grant, more than 70 volunteers will help
provide at least 4,300 medical rides for at least 350 unduplicated
clients.
“Thanks to the generosity of The Caring for Colorado
Foundation, we will continue to expand our transportation service,”
said Allison Dellwo, Medical Mobility Manager. “We often meet
individuals who were unable to visit a doctor in years simply because
they had no way to get to and from their appointments. This grant will
allow us to reach even more seniors and adults with disabilities who
need help accessing the health care they need.”
The Caring for
Colorado Foundation is a health grantmaker making health and accessible
health care more of a reality for people in Colorado every day through
targeted grants that provide measurable health improvements. The Caring
for Colorado Foundation is providing grants totaling $2.2 million
designed to boost health care in Colorado.
