The Centaurus High School Robotics Club competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition in Denver last weekend. They seeded 8th out of 48 teams after the qualification rounds which allowed them to compete in the finals. During the finals the team's alliance finished 4th place. The team also received the award for the highest seeded Rookie Team. This was a fantastic effort by the students at Centaurus High School as well as the teachers and mentors from Ball Aerospace particularly since it was their first year in the competition.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a world-wide robotics competition which challenges teams to build a robot six weeks following specific criteria. The robot must successfully fulfill a specific challenge (game) while competing with robots from other teams. the FIRST vision is "To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes." http://www.usfirst.org
