Coal Creek's Spring Fling Celebrates school's 25th year

Come Celebrate Coal Creek's 25th Birthday!
Annual Spring Fling - A free event for the whole family!
Date: Sat. Mar. 14th
Time: 6:00pm-8:30pm
Place: Coal Creek Elementary School, 801 W. tamarisk St in Louisville.

Come celebrate as we turn back the clock to 1984 to celebrate 25 years of Coal Creek with a big community party.
We will also be introducing to the Coal Creek Community a display ofthe Commemorative Tile Project that began in January ledby ceramic artist and Coal Creek parent, Rita Vali. "The project will feature handprint tiles from each child, teacher, staff member and possibly other members of the Coal Creek Community", said Vali. The 470+ tiles will be used to decorate a grouping of concrete benches located in the southwest corner of the school. This project is initially funded by the Coal Creek PTA with more fundraisers to come this spring. Donations will be gladly accepted. The tile mosaic will be completed during the summer with an unveiling ceremony in the fall.

The theme of the party is 80's attire and details are listed below:
1. A Live DJ - Coal Creek's very own Tim Beasley will play all those hits from the '80s
2. Dance Instruction - Once again the Dancing Diva's will be on hand to teach the kiddos and parents popular dances from the 80's. Like the Robot, Moonwalk, etc.
3. Professional Photographer Mryon Schaffer will take FREE family portraits.
4. Yummy snacks donated by local area restaurants
5. Items for a drawing, donated by local area merchants and TEACHERS. Drawing tickets will be available for purchase at the event, and in a flyer coming home with students. Tickets are $1.00 each and the proceeds will go to Children's Hospital.
6. Games will be located inside and outside of the school. Stand-up games, cookie decorating, sword dueling and robots will be provided by Stir It Up Cooking, Renaissance Adventures, and Bits, Bytes & Bots. If weather permits, we will have the 25-foot climbing wall from Avid4 Adventure and a 50-foot inflatable obstacle course.
A special cake ceremony, presentation and balloon drop will begin around 7:00 pm.
