Community Acupuncture Clinic at Lafayette Senior Services

Lafayette Seniors Services is pleased to announce the opening of a Community Acupuncture Clinic at their 103 South Iowa Avenue facility in Lafayette, CO. Starting June 4, 2009, de-stress and pain relief acupuncture treatments will be offered every Thursday from 1 PM to 3 PM., by appointment only. The Clinic is open to all adults18 years and older, not just seniors, and is run by licensed acupuncturist Randi Savage, RN, MS, MAc, LAc., a registered nurse and graduate of the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture in Louisville. Savage also oversees a Community Acupuncture Clinic in Thornton.

Widely practiced in Asia, community-style acupuncture is gaining a strong following in the United States. In this approach, people receive treatment in a large, quiet and comfortable room, rather than in a private session. “Group acupuncture creates a shared energy field that strengthens and deepens the experience,” Savage explains. “Friends and family can come to appointments together and be treated at the same time.”

Affordability is another great benefit of a community-style approach. While private acupuncture treatments can cost from $60-$125 for a one-hour session, the Community Acupuncture Clinic in Lafayette offer de-stress, five-needle ear acupuncture for only $12 for a 30-45 minute session. Additional treatment, to improve sleep, reduce pain, stress, tension, anxiety and depression, is also available at the Clinic on a sliding scale of $15-$45, based on a client’s ability to pay.
