Crayons to Calculators Honors Western DisposalCrayons to Calculators, a collaboration among non-profit organizations to provide school supplies to students in need in Boulder Valley and St. Vrain School Districts, honored Western Disposal on June 17th with an Employee Appreciation lunch to celebrate the company’s contribution of over $78,000.

Western Disposal is the title sponsor for the Crayons to Calculators program. In addition to its corporate sponsorship, Western Disposal employees contributed through an employee giving campaign, chili cook-off and by organizing a major fundraiser/auction that engaged and received substantial support from Western Disposal suppliers. Gary Horton, CEO, Western Disposal presented a check to Crayons to Calculators representatives from Impact on Education, I Have a Dream, Foothills United Way, Sister Carmen Community Center and the Education Foundation for St. Vrain Schools, expressing his appreciation for the commitment and generosity of the Western Disposal employees who made the support possible.

Started in 2005 with substantial support from the Boulder Rotary Club, Crayons to Calculators is a collaboration among the Boulder Valley School District, the Education Foundation for the St Vrain Valley, Foothills United Way, Fish Inc. of Broomfield, Impact on Education, I Have A Dream Foundation of Boulder County, Sister Carmen Community Center and the St. Vrain Valley School district that is focused on ensuring that all students start school with the supplies they need to succeed.
