DZ ALUMNAE SPONSOR EVENT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHILDREN WITH CHRONIC AND LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESSES

Boulder, CO—The Boulder Area chapter of Delta Zeta sorority alumnae will be hosting their first Hole in the Wall Beer and Boots Event March 29 at 6PM located at Denver’s Wynkoop Brewing Company to raise funds for The Painted Turtle children’s camp—a Hole in the Wall Camp. The event’s theme will be a salute to Hole in the Wall camp founder, actor, and notable philanthropist Paul Newman. Specifically the theme will draw on Newman’s western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and the Hole in the Wall Gang.
The event, chaired by alum Joan Zach will feature a four-course dinner specifically designed by Wynkoop’s Chef Jeremy Glas with the evening’s theme in mind. Wynkoop’s Brew Master Andy Brown has also selected light, medium and dark specialty brews to pair with the gourmet chuck-wagon meal, vegetarian options are also available. Glas and Brown will be making course-pairing presentations throughout the meal.
Proceeds from the meal and raffles throughout the night will be donated to the Painted Turtle children’s camp, founded in 1999. The Painted Turtle’s mission is to provide a year-round, life changing environment and camp experience for chronically ill children and their families. Children are offered medical support and inspiration to reach beyond their illnesses. Meanwhile, The Painted Turtle provides education and respite for the children’s families. All campers and families attend The Painted Turtle for free, thanks to generous public donations. In 2006 Delta Zeta sorority adopted The Painted Turtle camp as its national philanthropy. Nationwide, Delta Zeta supports the camp through monetary donations and volunteering time.
The event’s price is $45 per person, checks may be made payable to Boulder Area Delta Zeta Alumnae 14341 Wright Way Broomfield, CO 80023 no later than March 20th, 2009, please indicate whether a vegetarian meal is preferred.
