Louisville Public Library cardholders who reside in Superior will no longer have privileges to borrow materials, use Internet computers or participate in programs that require registration, such as children’s storytime and many teen events. Though this issue has been widely publicized in the local print media, Louisville City Manager Malcolm Fleming sent a letter to inform the nearly 3,500 Superior residents who hold Louisville Library cards about the upcoming changes and why they are necessary. Library staff has been notifying Town of Superior patrons individually when they visit the Library, and staff has also prepared an FAQ for Superior patrons to help answer some of the most common questions related to this issue. A link to this FAQ is available on the Library homepage at
http://www.ci.louisville.co.us/library. The Boulder and Broomfield libraries, members of the Flatirons Library Consortium with Louisville, may continue to issue cards to Town of Superior residents. However, those cards will not be valid for Louisville Public Library materials or services.
