The Girl Scout Silver Award is a prestigious award; the highest award that can be earned at the Cadette level of Scouting (middle school age girls). It involves completing numerous badges, personal growth and reflection, career exploration, community service, leadership, and a culminating project that requires at least 40 hours. 5 young women in the Boulder Valley School District have recently earned this award after 2 years of work. They are Johanne Albrigtsen, Kyla Dickerson, Audrey Hearn, Rosa Lawrence, and Sarah McWhirter from Troop #141. Mary Ann McWhirter and Carrie Hausfather are the troop leaders.
