Great Appreciation- Important documents recovered by Waste Management in a mountain of trash

On Friday morning, Jan. 7, 2011, Broomfield resident John Dulles mistakenly placed a box of important financial records in a book box next to his garbage container, intended for disposal.

Shortly after the item was collected, he realized his error and although quite certain nothing could be done, he placed a call to the McKay Landing HOA staff at VISTA Management. They provided the name of a contact at Waste Management, the HOA's and Mr. Dulles' trash and recycle vendor.  Within a few minutes, Waste Management determined that their driver had not returned to the transfer facility and that there was a possibility of retrieving his records.

Mr. Dulles agreed to meet my Waste Management driver, Marcus Mazoth, at the Commerce City transfer facility. When he arrived there, he was greeted by Mr. Henry who provided a hard hat, gloves and a vest. Mr. Mazoth unbelievably remembered the box in question and estimated where in the load it might approximately be.

When the truck was slowly unloaded, dismay filled Mr. Dulles as with the mountain of garbage he felt that this would be a futile effort. However, and quite amazingly, he spotted one of the record books almost immediately and was able to quickly recover the entire contents!

Without the assistance of the professional, courteous Waste Management staff, this minor miracle could not have occurred.  Not only is it amazing the documents were recovered, equally impressive were the helpful attitudes, responses and genuinely exceptional customer service tendered by our Waste Management team in Broomfield.
