December 1, 2009 - Boulder, Colorado – The annual Boulder Holiday Giving Programs distribution will be hosted in Boulder on Saturday, December 19, 8:30 – 12:30 a.m. (for last names beginning “A” through “M”), 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. (“N” through “Z”) at 5311 Western Ave. The distribution is sponsored by Share-A-Coat, a Boulder Valley Rotary Club program now in its 19th year; and Share-A-Gift, a community-wide volunteer effort now in its 38th year.

Nearly 1,000 volunteers have dedicated their time and energy to this year’s collection and distribution efforts. Over 700 Boulder County families and 2,000 children have been invited to select from the coats and toys.

Share-A-Coat has collected over 2,000 coats and many other items such as hats, gloves, sweaters, and boots. Most of these items were donated by children and parents at schools in Boulder County. Art Cleaners, Inc. of Boulder cleaned each clothing item prior to distribution. In addition, over 500 children story books have been collected and will be distributed.

Share-A-Gift has collected new and gently used toys, bikes, books, board and electronic games, puzzles, crafts, and stuffed animals throughout Boulder County for parents to give to their children for the holiday season. This year, nearly 25,000 gift items will be collected or purchased.
