Holy Family grad receives Navy promotion

Matthew Roberts was recently promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade, United States Navy, while completing his graduate school work at Stanford University.

Roberts, the son of Mike & Jane Roberts from Broomfield, is a 2006 graduate of Holy Family High School and a 2010 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He has been in California working on his Master’s degree since graduation.

Roberts reported to Charleston, SC on August 31^st where he will attend Nuclear Power Training Command. This school provides basic instruction for officers in nuclear propulsion. Upon completion of his training in Charleston he will attend additional Nuclear Power Training in either Ballston Spa, NY or Charleston, South Carolina, where officers and enlisted personnel are provided with operational training on nuclear propulsion plants. Upon completion of this training he has chosen to serve the Navy in the Submarine community.
