Holy Spirit Church Youth Group Sets off for Mission Trip to Cozumel

On Tuesday, July 7 twelve students and four leaders of the Holy Spirit Church youth group in Broomfield will head to Cozumel, Mexico for a mission trip. They will stay at the home of a former Broomfield resident. She and a newly formed network of churches there have set up a full itinerary of outreaches to the people of Cozumel that will utilize the talents of the students and leaders which includes speaking, music, drama, and sports, as well as manual labor. Our contacts in Cozumel are excited to host this group which will be the first group of missionaries to visit the island that anyone can remember. Although Cozumel is considered to be one of the top tourist destinations in the world, the people who live there live on the “other side of paradise”, some in very primitive conditions. It is a huge privilege and opportunity for this group to share Christ’s love to those who have only seen Americans as tourists and not as people with the sole purpose of coming to serve them.

hello Natalie

Matt
Natalie, I'd love to know how your mission trip to Cozumel went. I'm a Christian author, and have an upcoming book that takes place partly in Cozumel. My husband and I are visiting there at the end of this month, and I'm interested in the reception of Christian outreach there.
