4-H Boulder County horse judging coach

The Boulder County 4-H Horse Judging Teams competed at Colorado State University in the Colorado 4-H State Horse Judging contest. Teams from all over Colorado compete in this contest, representing their respective counties.

The Boulder County 4-H Junior Team and individuals placed as follows:

First high team in overall halter

First high team in overall performance

First high team in overall reasons

First high team overall and Champion Team

Team member Katherine Cannady of Broomfield was named Champion Individual, Lydia Groshong of Boulder was named Reserve Champion Individual, Tegan Brown of Boulder was the third high individual and Bennett Groshong of Boulder was the seventh high individual.

The Boulder County 4-H Senior Team placed as follows:

Team members were Ellie Hacker of Boulder, Kelsey Dawson of Longmont, Teaghan Weir of Longmont and Ashley Doolittle of Boulder. Alternate team member was Liza Jane Hein of Longmont.

By virtue of their win, the senior team will be representing Colorado 4-H at the American Quarter Horse Association Congress and the Western National 4-H contests later this year.

The teams will be hosting a fund raising horse show to benefit their travel expenses on Saturday, July 26, in the indoor arena at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. This show is open to all breeds and any age rider. The teams are coached by Jodi Zeier of Lafayette.
