Hundreds of Fireside Elementary students biked to school on Earth Day

In honor of Earth day, students at Fireside Elementary in Louisville participated in bike to school day. An estimated 200 Fireside Elementary children proudly rode their bikes and many more participated by walking or carpooling to school. Fireside has been a Green Star school since 2011. Students, parents and staff continue to work hard towards a zero waste way of life. A contest was held with multiple other Boulder Valley School District schools to award a smoothie party to the entire student body of the school with the most bike riding participants. Students also registered for a chance to win a new helmet from Louisville Cyclery. Results of the contests are pending, however most would agree that the town of Louisville can be proud of the next generation showing tremendous pride in the care of their environment.
