Traditional Irish Duo Adam Agee & Jon Sousa Return to Historic North Boulder Venue

Having sold out the Nomad Playhouse two years in a row, Adam Agee and Jon Sousa will perform there again this winter in Boulder, Colorado on Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12, 2020. The Boulder-based duo are best known for their Irish music, though they delve into the rich traditions of other cultural streams as well.

The show features fiddle, guitar, tenor banjo and voice. Through creative, long-form arrangements of traditional Irish tunes, Adam & Jon present a wide range of dynamic and textural spectra. Characterized by their genuine warmth and humor, the duo interweaves personal stories with their music, enchanting the atmosphere for listeners to experience a breadth and depth of emotion.

With more than a decade behind them, 2019 has been the duo's busiest musical year to date, including performances and workshops in Europe and Ireland, showcases in national and international music conferences, and regional tours in the east and west of the U.S., including their debut appearance at the world's largest Irish festival in Milwaukee.

The performance at the Nomad will initiate another exciting year for Adam and Jon. They will return to the Boston Celtic Music Festival on January 18, continue along the East Coast and Midwest for a month-long tour, and will then will travel overseas for a tour of Europe and Ireland in April and May.

The duo has recorded two full-length albums, including Suantraí (2014) and Ceol na gCarad (2018).

Adam & Jon spent a year living in Ireland in 2008-2009, while Jon earned his Masters Degree in Traditional Irish Music Performance at the University of Limerick. Currently based in Boulder, the duo makes frequent visits back to Ireland, particularly immersing themselves in the music of County Clare, where they lived in the music-rich town of Ennis.

Advance tickets are $22 adult, $15 senior/student/military; tickets are $26 on the day of show.
