The Louisville Society of Italian Americans will be holding our 21st annual La Festa to be held on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Festival will be held in Louisville’s Memory Square Park located at the corner of Spruce Street and Jefferson Avenue, in the heart of Old Louisville, three blocks west of Main Street.

At 1:00 p.m. we will present our two college scholarship winners Ms Taylor Elnicki and Mr. Cole Tesone. This year La Festa will recognize the Italian families of Louisville.

The annual Bocci Tournament will begin at 11:00 a.m. with sign up for teams beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Square Park. The cost for the tournament is $5.00 per person with prize money for the top three teams. Contestants must be 18 years of age to play.

Food booths will be open at 11:00 a.m. Featured restaurants include the Blue Parrot, Papa Frank’s, and Paulie’s Italian Ice. Domenico Designs will be selling Italian themed aprons and children’s clothing. Additionally, Italian apparel, cheese, sausage, home made Italian pizzelles, soda and water will be sold by the Society. Blue Dragon Amusements will have a climbing wall and bouncing obstacle course and K.C.’s Gifts and Collectibles will offer fine gifts.
