Lafayette Senior Advisory Board "Town Hall Meeting"

The City of Lafayette Senior Advisory Board is sponsoring a Town Hall Meeting from 6:00-8:00 p.m.on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the City of Lafayette Senior Center located at 103 S. Iowa Avenue in Lafayette. Senator Brandon Shaffer and State Representative Paul Weissman will be here to discuss issues facing older adults.

Topics to be discussed include:
1. What is the projection on the Homestead Exemption?
2. How will the Federal Recovery Act affect the older adult population?
Including: Housing Insulation, Direct payments and the application Process and Health Benefits including: Medicare D and Medicaid.
3. What cuts impacting older adults do you see coming from the Federal and State Governments?
4. Explain how House bill 1273 will affect older adults?
Time will be allowed at the end for questions from those in the audience.
