The Legacy HS Cheerleaders volunteered their time on Sunday to cheer on the crowds at the Denver Race for the Cure "Walk for the Cure" event!

The cheer squad was placed at the Starting Line to cheer on the over 60,000 runners and walkers that participated in today's event! Their upbeat cheering and customized cheers were a huge hit with the many participants. Both young and old responded to the encouragement that came from these girls to "Don't Stop" and "H.O.P.E for A Cure". Participants in the crowd both cheered, clapped and yelled with the Squad. The adrenaline was running high for everyone at the race today.

The Legacy Squad was also given the task to be the last walkers of the Race today, by walking the 5 K Walk with the"Race for the Cure" banner in hand. After the last participant walked past the squad, the girls lifted their banner and went on to finish off the race in grand style!

This is not the first event of this type that these girls have given up their free time to volunteer to help bring gusto to a Race event. The Legacy Squad participated at the Avon Race for the Cure in June of this year, in Keystone. At this event they were given the challenge to take on a location at the Race where most runners of this event generally start slowing down. The runners would need all the encouragement they could get when they would reach this location. The Avon promoters gave these girls 5 stars for not only inspiring the runners to keep going to the end, but for hiking into this hard to reach location to be there for the participants.

The Legacy Squad has taken on "Breast Cancer" as one of the charities that they have committed to help this year.

Way to go Legacy Cheerleaders! Just a another example of how these girls are not only making a difference to their community but to Colorado
