The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation has named Lisa Goddard a Goldwater Scholar. The 2010-11 Goldwater Scholars were selected on the basis of academic merit from a field of 1,111 mathematics, science, and engineering students nominated by the faculties of colleges and universities nationwide.

Lisa Goddard is a fourth-year double-degree student at Oberlin College and Conservatory studying biology and violin performance.  She is a 2006 graduate of Boulder High School. Her research focuses on the neuromuscular aspects of instrumental music performance. She has performed research with Associate Professor of Biology Taylor Allen at Oberlin and with Michael Charness at the Harvard Medical School.
