Jensen taught for 26-years and found it one of the greatest challenges in his life and one of the most rewarding. After ending one career in 1994, he began another as a writer. He now shares his latest effort in story telling—the Jensen family’s journey and that of this nation through World War II.

The year 1994 was the inception to a twelve-plus-years-long odyssey in uncovering the events and places of this war.

In order to bring the geographical settings and the narrative to life in Forever and a Day and better understand the challenges his family and our nation faced during the War, the author utilized hundreds of letters, interviewed three score veterans, and dug through the resources of archives across the world. In addition, he travelled to distant locations, which are central to this book—from Canada and Alaska, Normandy, Italy to islands in the Pacific, places that until 1942 seldom registered on the nation’s consciousness.

The author’s background includes a Bachelor of Arts in history from Colorado State University and several years of language instruction in Germany. He was recently enrolled at several institutes in Bamberg and in the city of his alma mater, the University of Goettingen. His competency in the German language has given him the ability to read German documents and interview former veterans of the War.
