Meals on Wheels of Boulder Rolls Out Summer Entertainments

Meals on Wheels of Boulder continues its weekly Tuesday evening “Wheels to Meals” events through the summer with dinner and a show every week. In addition, there will be a featured event once each month with especially selected and “themed” entertainment and menu.Appearing on Tuesday, June 23rd, is the Anthem Ranch Wranglers Performing Team, a line dance group of residents of the Anthem Ranch Dell Webb community located in Broomfield, Colorado. The group started dancing together in early 2007 and frequently appears at active-adult venues and senior centers. Dinner guests are urged to dress in western garb for the evening, which features a dinner entrée of chuck wagon beef and beans or game hens, salad, dessert and beverage.Coming July 21st is an old-fashioned barbecue entertainment by The Ponderosa Barbershop Quartet and a dinner of barbecued ribs or salmon. An ice cream social and dinner-dance – “Hazy Crazy Days of Summer” – is planned for August 11th.The weekly dinners are held at Café Classico in the West Boulder Senior Center, 909 Arapahoe, and are open to people of all ages. Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at a cost of $5 per person. Entertainment is from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended; please call 303-441-3148. Meals on Wheels’ clients include individuals of all ages and economic abilities who may be confined to their homes for any reason, including recovery from surgery, an illness or long- or short-term disabilities. It has provided nearly 1.5 million meals since its founding.
