MORE THAN 200 KEY EQUIPMENT FINANCE EMPLOYEES TEAM UP FOR ANNUAL DAY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

“Neighbors Make the Difference Day” is Hallmark of Company’s Civic-Minded Workforce

More than 200 employees of Key Equipment Finance participated in KeyCorp’s (NYSE: KEY) 21st annual day of volunteer community service on May 24. Key Equipment Finance is the equipment leasing affiliate of KeyBank, and employees in both the company’s Superior, Colorado and Albany, New York offices took part.

Some of the company’s Neighbor’s Make the Difference Day projects included:

•    Town of Superior: Volunteers helped clean and prepare the bike route for the Superior Morgul Classic cycling event.

•    Project Linus: Volunteers made quilts and blankets, which will then be donated to children who are seriously ill or traumatized.

•    Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center: Volunteers helped with basic up-keep of the center, including installing mailboxes, painting, weeding, and cleaning up trails.

•    City of Westminster: Volunteers helped with clean up and organization, as well as placing “Do Not Dump” placards on drains throughout the city.

•    Firefly Autism: Volunteers helped with yard work, gardening and childproofing various areas at the center.

Colorado employees also volunteered at A Precious Child in Broomfield; Bridgeway in Lakewood; FISH Community Food Bank in Broomfield; the Habitat For Humanity Outlet Store in Wheat Ridge; and the Mountain States Children’s Home in Longmont. Employees in Albany, New York will volunteer at more than 25 community locations including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; Bethlehem Children’s School; St. Margaret’s Center for Disability Services; Camp Scully; and multiple food banks, schools and churches.

KeyCorp employees nationwide also participated in Neighbors Day, which began in Alaska in 1991, when a group of employees volunteered for an array of service projects in their communities. The idea swept across the bank, where this year employees will donate an expected 31,000 hours. Over the 21-year history of Neighbors Day, employees nationwide have given more than half a million volunteer hours to their communities.

One of the leading organized corporate volunteerism efforts in America, Neighbors Make the Difference Day is the signature piece in Key’s year-round philanthropic investment in its communities.  Each project is an extension of the company’s commitment to strengthening the quality of life in the communities where its employees live and work.

“Each year our employees look forward to rolling up their sleeves for an afternoon of volunteerism on Neighbors Day,” said Adam Warner, president of Key Equipment Finance. “We give back to the community as a company and as individuals throughout the year, but Neighbors Day is a great opportunity to come together with our KeyBank colleagues across the country for a full afternoon of volunteerism. We’re proud to help the communities in which we live and work, thrive.”
