Olander birthday: 90

Dean L. Olander was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Longmont. Dean is the third generation Olander born in Longmont. Preceding him were his grandparents August and Hannah Olander from Sweden and his parents Carl and Blanche Olander.

Dean married Dorothy Ann Ross on June 20, 1953. They had three children, Kendall, Randall and Andrea. Dean and Dorothy farmed east of town for 51 years, with Dean farming for 70 years in the Longmont area.

Dean is a founding family of Ryssby Church, the stone to build Ryssby Church was provided by his grandfather August Olander. He was a member of Longs Peak Water Board, Sirloin Club, Elks and a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church.

Ken, Randy, Andrea and Dean’s 10 grandchildren invite you, his friends, to come and celebrate Dean’s 90th Birthday from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 3, at First Lutheran Church, 803 Third Ave, Longmont.
