“Rob Banks” Short Film Debuts to Packed Forest Room 5 Crowd

Denver Filmmaker Michael McCrann Launches Wolff House Productions, LLC, with new short “Rob Banks”

DENVER, CO-November 10, 2009-A crowd of nearly 100 gathered at Forest Room 5 in Denver to see the world premier of Denver filmmaker Michael McCrann’s directorial debut, entitled “Rob Banks”.

McCrann conceived “Rob Banks” as long as four years ago while a student in film school in Michigan. It took shape as a flesh and blood production about eight months ago during a discussion over drinks with his brother and collaborator, Brendan McCrann. The two decided then and there to make the film a reality and began reaching out to friends and associates in order to gather necessary talent and resources.

“In producing and directing this film, we wanted to create something accessible that pulled at the heartstrings in a unique and powerful way,” says Director McCrann. “We are thrilled that ‘Rob Banks’ received such a positive response. In the months to come, look to see the project in festivals around the country.”

After filming in Denver and rural Hudson, Colorado and a trip out to New Jersey to utilize a state-of-the-art editing studio, the final cut of Rob Banks is a concise eight minutes long, but the ingredient list that went into this dish is long. In the end, the list of cast, crew and supporters numbered more than 25 individuals, each giving of their time and talents generously in order to make “Rob Banks” come alive. Nine full days of on location shooting in the Denver area, several hours of footage and countless hours of writing, re-writing, rehearsal, location preparation, costume, shooting and editing combined to create a film that inspired cheers, jeers and loud applause at various points from the capacity crowd at Forest Room 5.

“Rob Banks” marks a fast start out of the blocks for fresh, young filmmaker Michael McCrann who’s doing things his way from his home in Denver.
