Social Venture Partners Boulder County grants $75,000 to local non-profits.

Boulder, Colo. (June 2, 2011) – Social Venture Partners Boulder County (SVP) has awarded $75,000 in grants to local non-profits for 2011.  SVP is investing in non-profits serving youth, early child development, the homeless, and those needing health care, making $75,000 in cash contributions in addition to an equal donation of pro bono business consulting.   SVP was established in 2000 as a fund of The Community Foundation by local business and community leaders interested in helping non-profits improve services by strengthening business operations.

“SVP Partners voted to support Carriage House Community Table, Dental Aid, The Wellness Initiative and The Tiny Tim Center because of the vital work each group is doing for our community.” says Jennie Arbogash, Executive Director.  “Thousands of Boulder County residents are impacted when we contribute to making these organizations successful.”
SVP has provided almost $1.1million in cash grants and over $1.5 million worth of pro bono consulting to seventeen non-profits across Boulder County since inception.  This mix of time, money and expertise is revolutionizing the relationship between non-profits and donors while providing valuable returns that far exceed cash investments.  AS a result, non-profits have increased capacity and donors have become more engaged givers.
In 2011, SVP will work with grantees on projects such as strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, board development, and technology.  A variety of reports on the impact of SVP can be found at http://www.svpbouldercounty.org/outcomes-reports.  A complete listing of grant awards made since 2000 is available at:  http://www.svpbouldercounty.org/alumni-investees.
