Superior 5th grader, Will Dixon places top 10 at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic Cross County National Championships

Superior 5^th grader, Will Dixon places top 10 at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympic Cross County National Championships in the 9 and 10 year old division in Hoover, AL this past weekend.  The one mile clock showed Will’s time at 5:24 as he ran past.  His finishing time was 11:40.

After placing 2^nd at the Regional Championships in Phoenix, AZ, Will goes on to place 10^th out of 237 athletes at the National championships.   Will won the Colorado State Championships. 

One week prior to the USATF Nationals he placed 4^th at the AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL with a time of 11:11 for the 3k cross country course.

His top 10 finish at Nationals gives Will the status of All-American in Cross County.  Will earned 3 All-American status titles (top 20 in the US) in 2010 for Cross Country, 800 meters and Multi-Event.   He also captured 2 additional Elite Youth Honor Roll (top 100) in the 400 meter and High Jump events.

Next year he will move up to the 11 and 12 year old division.
