Boulder, Colo. (June 8, 2009) – Social Venture Partners Boulder County (SVP) has awarded $75,000 in grants to Boulder County nonprofits for 2009. At a recent meeting of members involved in SVP, the organization made grant award decisions to support four local nonprofits serving youth, early child care and development, and the homeless, making $75,000 in direct contributions. SVP was established in the Fall of 2000 as a fund of The Community Foundation, by local business and community leaders interested in combining the power of business with a passion for giving. Grant recipients include: Carriage House Community Table, Growing Gardens, The Women’s Wilderness Institute, and Wild Plum Center for Young Children & Families (formerly Longmont Children’s Council).
SVP has provided $915,000 and thousands of hours of management consulting to fourteen nonprofits across Boulder County since inception. SVP Boulder County works with organizations to help them realize their ambitions through a combination of contributions of cash and pro bono consulting. This mix of time, money and expertise is revolutionizing the relationship between nonprofits and donors while providing valuable returns that far exceed the capital investment. Non-profits have increased capacity and sustainability as a result.
In 2009, SVP will work with grantees on projects such as strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, management coaching, and technology. A report on the impact of SVP can be found at
