Boulder, Colo.— “Walk Talk Show with Waylon Lewis,” the leading “green” national talk show produced in Boulder, Colorado, announces its monthly taping, to be held at the University of Colorado’s historic, 214-seat Old Main Chapel Theatre, sponsored by the CU Environmental Center, CU Continuing Education and Naropa University.

The Walk the Talk Show is hosted by Waylon Lewis, founder and editor-in-chief of elephant magazine and now elephantjournal.com, and focuses on issues and personalities in sustainability, adventure, spirituality, education, consumerism, food, ecofashion, politics, wellness, the arts—”anything that helps us to live a good life that also happens to be good for others and our planet.”

The show uses the classic format of Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show to address topics in an entertaining, engaging and “fun, yet fundamentally serious” manner. The University of Colorado is an ideal host, having been ranked first in the Sierra Club’s 2009 ranking of eco-friendly American colleges.

The taping will take place from 7-8pm on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 and will feature leading yoga teachers Richard Freeman of The Yoga Workshop and Tias Little of Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as “hipster folk” musician Harper Phillips on her ukulele. Doors open at 6:00 pm with a mini-expo and mingling. At 8:00, following the show, a 20-minute intimate, moderated conversation with local yoga studio owners and guests will take place.

Videos of the show are available for viewing on elephantjournal.com, as well as on pages of 20 partner host websites for a total of 1,000,000 unique viewers, making Walk the Talk Show, in only its second year, the largest green, “mindful” talk show nationally. Host websites include Care2, Intent.com, Twilight Earth, Huffington Post Colorado and Huffington Post Green and Living, Greenupgrader and more.

Richard Freeman has been a student of yoga since 1968. He has spent nearly nine years in Asia studying various traditions, which he incorporates into the Ashtanga yoga practice as taught by his principal teacher, K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. As the founder of the Yoga Workshop, Richard sets the standard for the classes at the studio. He is the author of the forthcoming book, “The Mirror of Yoga” (Shambhala Publications, Fall 2010).

Tias Little’s background is steeped in both academic study and physical discipline. He began his yoga training in 1984 in the Iyengar system under the guidance of his mother, Susan Little. After practicing Ashtanga Yoga for 10 years, Tias immersed himself in the study of the healing arts, including massage, cranial-sacral therapy and bodywork. He teaches yoga with a sensitivity and subtlety informed by his anatomical knowledge and keen sense of touch.

After a lifetime of musical training on various instruments, Harper Phillips started playing the ukulele in the fall of 2008, and having finally found her musical soulmate, began writing songs. After receiving a BA in Theatre from the University of Colorado, she has continued to share her music with audiences in her home of Boulder, Colorado.

Talk show tapings will be open to the public on a monthly basis. Dates and guests scheduled for upcoming shows include:

Feb. 11, 2010: Chef Ann Cooper, who has been featured on Colbert Report and in “The New Yorker,” and Alex Bogusky, partner: Crispin Porter + Bogusky, featured on the cover of “Inc”, “Fast Company”, and Shocking Barak, an electric motorcycle company.

Mar. 11, 2010: Kimbal Musk, founder of Oneriot.com, who will feature test drives in the new Tesla Roadster, as well as The Kitchen, and Dave Kingsbury of Bcycle, a locally-based national bike-share company.
