Myself and five other Dot's regulars strolled in to Dot's On the Hill for breakfast about 11:00AM on August 9th. We never expected we would be spit on, made to wait 3 hours, had our food taken away, get verbally assaulted and physically threatened, be lied to, and even chased after by an insane drugged-out owner ready to attack us!We just wanted brunch as usual. We've been going to dots for at least fifteen years and know most of the people there by name. One friend was back in town after being gone for six years so he looked a little bit different maybe. We got our drinks quickly but then waited 45 minutes before the waitress came back to order food. We were trying to get her attention as she was attending to 4 other tables in the room who came and left before we got our food.When she did take our order everyone ordered something fairly quick except me. I ordered a German Pancake (baked--takes 20 minutes). We then waited another hour for food to show up. It is now 12:45pm. As the food is dished out on the table one of my friends notes that they made her sandwich with the wrong bread (White not Wheat) and suggests not making a deal of it because they are so slow. The waitress promised she could have it fixed in 5 minutes and took it back. 45 minutes later my friend gave up and left to go elsewhere on The Hill in search of food.After she left, at about 1:45, the remade sandwich arrived. We discussed at the table that the service was very bad and the food wasn't very good that day. Our whole experience was just "bad." While talking about it some other tables in the back overheard us and chimed in to agree that they too were having to get up several times to ask for things and weren't having a positive experience.
One of my friends who knows the owner asked him if he would take care of the situation. The owner pretended to be a busser and told us "No, I can't help you have to talk to your waitress." Our waitress told us "There is no manager today." After complaining fiercely about our now 2 hour and 45 minute long brunch with the waitress she said she would comp the meal. She then said "If you're not going to pay, you don't get to eat." and collected what we were still eating.After we left we were walking down the sidewalk and the owner came chasing after us screaming. He accused one of us of being "A bad human being." He accused us of being "Scam Artists." He told us we are "never welcome back again." He told us we "Abused his employees." His tone was very aggressive and I was certain he was going to physically attack us! He was also spitting on us. Thankfully he backed down before we had to call police!We all got sick. I don't know if it was the bad food or bad service. Just stay away from Dot's! After 15 years the yolks have gone bad.
