Boulder County elders aren’t letting their ages slow them down. They have discovered a way to stay young at heart, active and engaged in our community with Circle of Care. Circle of Care is an award winning nonprofit dedicated to connecting people across generations and cultures though the arts, culture, lifelong learning and social/civic engagements. Circle of Care, utilizes existing community resources to insure the full inclusion and access of older persons and people with disabilities into the fabric of our community, which allows them to be active engaged citizens for a lifetime. Circle of Care partners with over 50 community organizations to mobilize resources and organize outing after outing, event after event for those who might otherwise have a difficult time connecting to our community. From musical and theatrical events, nature education and intellectually stimulating academic and cultural programs, to dining out during the holidays, Circle of Care is committed to mobilizing our elders and keeping them young at heart. "Circle of Care is my way to get out, otherwise I would never do anything" said Cordie of Longmont, who attends several Circle of Care events a month with some of her Longmont gal pals.

Pictured: On Sunday over 50 Circle of Care seniors, could be found tapping their toes to the CU Jazz Ensemble’s Spring Swing at Macky Auditorium. Pictured above: a Circle of Care attendee Eleanor Hoffman, 94, chats with Peter Fetterly of Broomfield at the event. Eleanor in her own words “picked him up” to dance in the aisle during the CU Spring Swing. "They don't make music like they used to" she said.
