How Does Sorrow Find a Home?

Boulder, CO – 8/15/25 – Prepare to be inspired as local artist Joy Redstone unveils her 17th solo exhibition, "How Does Sorrow Find a Home?", opening on August 22 at Mackey Auditorium at University of Colorado, with a reception on September 19, 6:30-8:30 pm.

This powerful showcase delves into profound themes of trauma, sorrow, and the transformative healing found through artistic immersion and practice. The exhibition reflects Joy’s deeply personal journey and the universal experiences of the human condition. Through her evocative and visually stunning artworks, she invites viewers to embark on a voyage of self-reflection, empathy, and the discovery of the restorative power of creative expression. Joy’s artwork has won awards, but she is better known in the Boulder area for her non-profit leadership in the areas of homeless services and suicide prevention advocacy. This show’s theme relates to her personal recovery from the suicide of a family member and how art has helped her find peace. She hopes to share that with others through this show.
