Temperature's rising on Walk & Bike Month

As part of Walk & Bike Month, Boulder has displayed a “carbon thermometer” on the Pearl Street Mall to inform passers-by how much carbon and how many barrels of oil will be saved by the number of registrants for Bike to Work Day, which is on June 25. If 6,500 people bike or walk to work on June 25 instead of driving a car, 23 tons of carbon and 93 barrels of oil will be saved. Records have already been broken in terms of the number of participants signed up for Bike to Work Day, with the number at more than 4,500 people who have pledged to either bike or walk to work on June 25.
