I don't like disposable things,

Cars you lease, lighters you can't

Refill, pens you throw away,

Marriages that 'don't work out'.



I don't like 'clip-on' ties, clothes

That must be dry-cleaned, fast food

That must be gulped, restaurants that

Make you wait, and 'weekend children'.



I don't like 'instant gratification'

That gratifies no one, or instant coffee.

I don't like one-way streets or relationships

This is my first attempt at blogging and, as I'm a writer, primarily a poet, I'll start with a poem. This is ' DOORS ' and I hope someone enjoys it.

DOORS

The sound a door makes
Is different if one is entering
rather then leaving.
It'd warm and soft and inviting
when entering,
But it's cold and hard, almost slamming
when leaving.
Did you ever wonder about that
as you opened or closed
the doors of your heart?
