Lyons Community Foundation Spearheading Relief Efforts

The recent devastation of epic proportions has prompted an emergency change of course regarding the Lyons Community Foundation's (LCF) grant funding allocations for 2013. The region's catastrophic flooding has dramatically impacted innumerable lives here in Lyons and throughout the front range community.

The LCF exists to improve the quality of life, build a culture of giving and encourage positive change for the Greater Lyons Area. Although over 30 applications for grants have already been received, the board has determined that all available funding will instead be awarded to the Basic Needs and Emergency Fund (BNEF), directed by the Lyons Community Church and supported by it's own advisory board.

Helping out Lyons community members in urgent situations is the BNEF's goal. In the past this funding has helped support housing and utility related needs, medical emergencies and transportation needs.

If you are interested in donating to the Lyons BNEF, please click on the donate now button on the LCF's home page (lyonscf.org). If writing a check, please earmark it for the BNEF Fund and send to: The Community Foundation in Boulder, 1123 Spruce Street Boulder, CO 80302.

All donations of any size are desperately needed and greatly appreciated.
