Like millions of other person around the world, my faith and interest in Star Trek has been renewed in the past several months. On May 9, 2009 a brand new movie was released for the 1st time in more than 5 years.Star Trek, the original TV series, follows the adventurous exploits of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise as they "boldly go where nobody has gone before." The spaceship Enterprise is led by Captain James Tiberius Kirk (William Shatner), an Earth-born astronaut who often exhibits the handsome, leadership, and creativity necessary for the mission's survival.
The movies of Star Trek feature humanity in future episodes that capture the feeling of true excitement. I know that many feel that Trek is talky, but, if you think about, every episode is action movied. Imagine being in the 24th century and seeing a different charater, alien starship decloaking before you. Imagine the excitement that would be pumping through your veins.Many Trekkers fans see the newst series almost as illegitimate. They believed that TOS was the best and that TNG was okay but the series after DS9 are seen as abortions. I ask you to reconsider this position.Star Trek is Star Trek and every real Trekkie should own every series in its all on DVD.
