Lafayette, Colorado – Learning comes alive this summer (and away from computer screens) with activities that encourage hands-on exploration and critical thinking skills – plus playtime in the Museum! This summer class series gives children in Grades 1st-3rd an exciting and informative insight into engineering. Centered on the engineering method, each session focuses on a different field: Civil, Aerospace, Electrical, Chemical/Biomedical, and Environmental Engineering. Classes are held weekly on Fridays for 5-weeks, July 9 to August 6, and are limited to 15 children per class.
Civil Engineering Class
Friday, July 9 at 3:30pm-5:00pm
Learn to engineer! In this class, we’ll get to know what kind of engineer you are, build with our Rigamajig, and create inventions.
Aerospace Engineering Class

Feel the Chemistry! In this class, we’ll learn about physical and chemical changes through cold and slimy science, then get to the heart of the matter using our EEK! Engineering kits to mimic what biomedical engineers are doing to fix broken hearts.
Environmental Engineering Class
Friday, August 6 at 3:30pm-5:00pm
Go green! In this class, we’ll learn how natural materials are used in dyes, plant a seed to take home with you, and take some time to get to know the Discovery Garden. Wear clothes that can get wet!
