Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County Hosts United Nations Speakers

Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County invites you to meet Leslie Wright, Zonta International's Representative to the UN.  She will be the guest of honor at a reception that will focus on NGO participation in the formation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, (with particular attention on how major women’s groups worked together in the development of portions of the accord) and on what the future holds for an agreement of this nature.   It is a ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at how the UN works!

Ms. Wright has played a wide range of important roles in international human rights and the status of women. Currently, as chair of the International Committee of Zonta International’s UN Committee, she coordinates the efforts of the teams of volunteers active with the UN, Unicef, UNFPA, ILO, and UNHCHR in New York, Geneva and Vienna, and with Unesco in Paris.

She collaborates with Zonta’s representatives at the Council of Europe and with the Chairman of the Zonta International Advocacy Committee. Zonta is active in the International Governmental Negotiations for Agenda 2030 and the SDGs that will replace the 2000–2015 Millennium Development Goals.
