CONGRATULATIONS TO AREA TOASTMASTERS CONTEST WINNERS, JEANNE MCATEE AND DWIGHT SWANEY !!

Lafayette Toastmasters Club “Speak With Ease” members Jeanne McAtee, Joel Rashbaum, and Dwight Swaney competed in the area contest on October 11th at Micro Motion Inc. in Boulder.

Jeanne McAtee won the Humorous Speech Contest for District 26, Area E-5 with her speech "Walk Softly and Carry a Big Handbag". She will go on to the division contest and represent the club at Xilinx on October 25th.

Bob Bennett, a past "Speak With Ease" president, was the test speaker for the area contest. He presented an inspirational speech about how Toastmasters are "mission driven" and how we should remember to speak from our hearts to be the most effective speakers we can be.

Dwight Swaney placed second in the speech evaluation contest with a very "on target" and upbeat evaluation of Bob's speech. (Bob told Dwight he planned to use many of Dwight's suggestions in his next presentation of this speech.) If the first place winner cannot make it to the division contest, Dwight will represent our club at Xilinx on October 25th.
