Dreamers to attend conference to learn skills for college and obtaining meaningful employment.
On Friday, June 26, the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Boulder County will introduce their middle and high-school program participants to what many deem the unknown: College. The conference being sponsored by CollegeInvest and College in Colorado, will feature specific programs geared towards low-income students “Dreamers” making the prospect of going to college a reality. Among the workshops that will be offered include: how to apply for financial aid, FAFSA application instructions, team building exercises, and much more.
Another conference goal is to teach the “Dreamers” the necessary skills for getting a job and keeping it! College in Colorado’s motivational speaker, Lance Carl has graciously agreed to talk to the students at 12:30p.m. “We are pleased to see our Dreamers participate in such an event that will truly enrich their lives and leave them with applicable skills they can use,” Lori Canova, CEO of “I Have a Dream” stated.
