I went out this weekend to reshoot the
full moonset over the Colorado Rockies. Unfortunately, some clouds obscured things a bit, but provided some wild AlpenGlow (reflected sunlight just before sunrise) on the mountains - the full-res versions of these images are gorgeous.
7:05AM - parked just West of 75th street on Arapahoe overlook
7:14 AM - Valmont Power Plant, Boulder, Foothills, and Meeker/Longs turn red in AlpenGlow
7:15AM - Looking back to the East as the Sun is about to rise
7:21AM - Closeup of AlpenGlow on Mount Meeker and Longs Peak
7:24AM - Full Moon pops out of upper cloud bank ... but about to go into lower one - darn!
Sunrise was at 7:22 and moonset (on a flat horizon) was at 7:55 -
here's more info on the AlpenGlow over the Colorado Rockies.
