While my wife is viewing wildlife in Africa (literally!), I've been observing some wildlife in my neighborhood - a Cooper's Hawk nest with three super-duper cute Hawklets - more pictures and info at that link.

2012 was another banner year for our peaches trees. Even after two rounds of pruning, we ended up with over a thousand peaches. It's too many to pick by hand, so we do a "big shake" onto a tarp - here's a time-lapse video of the comedy!

After confirming school was cancelled today (good call BVSD), I checked in on my Big Green Buddies (part of my crazy Halloween Decorations) to see what they thought of the cold snowy weather. So after waking the kids, packing their lunches, and sending them off to school, it is a peaceful morning ... when I hear a "whoosh, whoosh, whoosh" from outside the open window. I went out this weekend to reshoot the full moonset over the Colorado Rockies. Unfortunately, some clouds obscured things a bit, but provided some wild AlpenGlow (reflected sunlight just before sunrise) on the mountains - the full-res versions of these images are gorgeous.
