Mindful Assists Teacher Training w/ Tucker Shelton

Refine and enhance your classes with safe, effective assists. Learn how to use skillful hands-on touch to support, guide, nourish and challenge your students. In this 20-hour Yoga Alliance certified training, you will practice both giving and receiving Yoga assists.
This course is a fun and educational dip into the world of yoga assists as taught by Tucker Shelton, M.A., E-RYT 500, YACEP, KYM 475. This training will give attendees a basic foundation for offering ethical and thoughtful assists in Yoga classes of various styles.
With three all-levels Yoga classes open to the public, there is time to immerse yourself in practice and to try your hand at assisting a variety of Yoga students.
Tucker will discuss the ethics, theory, and application of Yoga assists. You will study traditional Yoga assists along with partner Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage techniques. You will learn how to modify your offerings to meet the needs of the many bodies you will encounter as a teacher.

Sweet Awakening Slow Flow
This gentle, all-access class synchronizes breath with movement in a smooth, therapeutic way and then spills into restful, long-held postures for a full system treat. You will be calmly challenged and energized in the first half of the class, building and engaging your strength and concentration. Then you get to unwind, allowing your body to pause and deepen into some delicious stretches.
Restorative Stress Melt
Soothing the body and mind, we use our breath and gravity to guide us deeper into relaxation with a focus on opening the joints and connective tissues. This Yin-Restorative fusion class is the perfect antidote for our modern, stressful lives and is open to all levels of experience.
This sweet flow class uses a breath-based vinyasa to build strength and flexibility, challenging your balance and concentration, and harnessing that energy to promote inner stillness and peace. Tap into your inner potential, release deeply stored tension, and experience the amazingly transformative power of your inner fire. This class involves more movement, so some prior experience with flow Yoga will be helpful.
